The lack of active officials has hindered these institutions’ ability to operate fully, prompting Cho’s call for immediate action.
Emphasizing the critical role of the Control Yuan as a constitutionally mandated oversight body, Cho insisted that lawmakers focus on the qualifications of nominees rather than political biases during their evaluations. The NCC, responsible for telecommunications regulation and broadcasting license renewals, has seen its operations stalled due to the absence of commissioners. Cho also underscored the need for a thorough yet timely review of the Cabinet’s nominees for the NCC, stressing that ensuring the continuity of government operations is paramount.
